Description
I painted this tranquil scene at the Cafe Gallery as it appeared prior to 2014. Cafe Gallery closed in 2014. It is an Eighteenth Century Federal style building that had been restored to express its original simple elegance, and was a restaurant that offered fantastic views of historic Burlington NJ. If you got a seat by the window or sat outside you had a wonderful view of the Delaware river and the many riverboats that passed by. It had a romantic ambiance and the interior showcased original paintings by the most talented area artists. A new restaurant has taken its place and all the foliage, garden path, and outside decor has been removed to make way for a contemporary design. They built condominiums along the river that totally obstructs the river view from the new restaurant!
