Afghan hounds have always been one of my favorite dogs. I painted this wind blown Abstract Impressionist painting to show the beauty, grace, and ethereal quality of this beautiful dog. On a windy day the breeze blows through its long flowing hair.
AFGHAN HOUNDS;
THEY'RE ONE OF THE MOST ANCIENT DOG BREEDS.
This dog breed is so old that legend has it that the Afghan hound was the dog rescued on Noah’s Ark. More likely, the dogs came over into Afghanistan with Alexander the Great’s army. (There are rock carvings showing the distinct-looking dogs in caves in Afghanistan to support this theory.)
THEY WERE USED TO HUNT.
They are capable of hunting and thinking independently and they need very little direction...
