Description
Silent film star Lillian Gish in the movie White Sister. I photographed this image from a movie of Lillian in a scene where she is being taken away in a carriage to become a nun and is looking out the back window. I enhanced it for a dramatic effect.

Marvelous, you really captured her essence! My late Mom admired Lillian very much, and we both had the pleasure of meeting the screen legend many years ago. One of my favorite quotes from the actress about the silents was (I might be paraphrasing) "Back then, if your mouth was bigger than your eyes, you were considered unphotogenic!".

How very beautiful Lyric Lucas, The black and white portrait is amazing and I like that is one of the silent film stars. Beautiful, L/F/P

I love her sweet face, when she was older she did a movie with Burt Lancaster, Audrey Hepburn, and Audie Murphy called The Unforgiven 1960..I think it might have been her only speaking role? maybe her last? Anyway, I always liked how she looked..l/f/fb

Great portrait, great treatment, Lyric, totally dramatic and representative of the era! L&F&T, Christel.

This image leaves one wondering Lyric. Was she really acting or was there something else behind those eyes? l/f
