Pointer Breed...This breed has a willingness to learn and a natural athleticism, which can make it successful in obedience training. They are fun-loving dogs, and have a tendency toward mischief, and love being the center of attention, so teaching them the rules of your household will go a long way.Pointing breeds are typically used in finding game. The name pointer comes from the dog's instinct to point, by stopping and aiming its muzzle towards game. This demonstrates to the hunter the location of their quarry and allows them to move into range.The pointing breeds can be dated to England and Europe in about the 1650s. They may have descended from dogs from Spain, specifically of the Old Spanish Pointer.
